Tonight, the fashion industry celebrates one of their biggest nights: the legendary Met Gala. In celebration of this event, I got to partake in a pinch-me-I’m-dreaming project to see how hair hair and wardrobe truly come together for fashions most prestigious night. 

Last week, along with TONI&GUY Hair Meet Wardrobe, I got to visit the Marchesa showroom for the opportunity to chat with Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig themselves. There I was, sitting on a couch in their beautiful showroom, asking them about some of their favorite Met Gala moments: “It’s hard for us to pick just one, but Blake Lively in her short number and those legs was definitely a favorite..” said both ladies.

TONI&GUY Hair Meet Wardrobe is partnering up with Marchesa this year in celebration of the designers’ 10-Year anniversary. What a perfect pair as these brands are bringing hair and fashion together so seamlessly from the runways to red carpet. Among the many reasons they chose to partner up, including both having strong British roots, I also learned that one of Georgina Chapman’s first modeling jobs was with TONI&GUY in London – talk about coming full circle!

Aside from getting to chat with Georgina and Keren, their incredible team gave me a tour of the space where I truly got to see where the magic happens. Again, there I was, walking through a room with these gowns getting their finishing touches in preparation for tonights event, with them dressing celebrities like Katie Holmes and Karolina Kurkova!

Before leaving their showroom, I got to pick one of her dresses for a Met Gala inspired shoot! Here, I asked some of you which one you liked better. The answers were pretty mixed, but considering it’s the Met Gala, I figured: go big or go home! Plus, when I asked both Georgina and Keren which one they preferred, they didn’t even hesitate with the answer. I figured, if that’s what they think, that’s surely what I’ll be wearing!
Once the dress was decided, it was time for hair with TONI&GUY Hair Meet Wardrobe to complement my chosen gown – completing my head to toe look! We wanted something glamourous and slightly out of my comfort zone. After all, the Met Gala was our theme. I absolutely loved my look – glamourous, a little retro and certainly made me feel like I was off to somewhere fabulous. The final hair style was a hybrid of classic glamour so fittingly, the TONI&GUY Classic Smoothing Lotion gave the retro finger waves that smooth, sleek look while we finished off with TONI&GUY Glamour Firm Hold Spray to set in the waves and bun updo (which was much needed as it was a bit windy that day!).
