New Series: My Perfect Day in NYC

My Perfect Day in NYCSweater: Similar | Denim: L’Agence | Belt: Similar | Sunglasses: Celine Tilda

Lately, I’ve been thinking about what fun additions I could add to Brooklyn Blonde; posts that are informative & fun while sharing a little bit about some of my favorite people on the web! One feature that instantly came to mind was featuring how some of my favorite New York friends would spend their ideal day in the city, in whatever borough(s) they chose. I gave them complete free rein to include anything they wanted to, from eating to shopping to overnight staycations. I have some wonderful people lined up but I felt before I could introduce their days, I first had to share what one of my perfect days in NYC would be.

My Perfect Day in NYC

Since this is my ideal day, it would have to start out by waking up at one of my favorite hotels, The Greenwich Hotel in Tribeca. Because I don’t live in Manhattan, I always have to come into the city, so being already there would be a nice little luxury. The hotel is attached to Locanda Verde, one of favorite restaurants for breakfast and brunch. So naturally, I’d go downstairs and get some coffee and a light breakfast. I don’t want to get overly full since half of my day is going to revolve around eating.

After Locanda Verde, I would take an Uber over to Rescue Spa in Flatiron for a facial. Their estheticians are wonderful and I love that they use Biologique Recherche products. After my facial, I would walk over to 5th Avenue and hit up some of my favorite like Intermix, Zara (I prefer this Zara to others as it’s typically less congested), Club Monaco (with a stop at the attached Ralph’s for coffee and a cookie) and Sephora.

At this point I would definitely be hungry again, so I’d either walk to ABCV (it’s plant-based but so incredibly delicious – reservation recommended) or if I’m in the mood for good sushi, then SUGARFISH (no reservations and often a wait, so avoid during peak lunchtime hours of 12-2pm.)

Tip: If you go to ABCV, I highly recommend the cauliflower, the chickpea hummus and one of their pasta dishes. Everything is beautiful, fresh and so good.

After lunch, if I’m feeling ambitious, I’d make my way back down to the West Village/Tribeca area by foot or by renting a Citi Bike. Although I’d most likely walk because walking in the city is one of my favorite things in the world. It’s the best way to soak up the energy, the culture, the people around you and of course, burn some calories. Whether by foot or bike, I’d definitely make a stop at Washington Square Park and rest there for a few minutes, people watch and just take it all in.

I’d end up back in my hotel room to refresh and recharge and eventually head back down to Locanda Verde for a few cocktails (obviously, not while pregnant) before ending up at L’Artusi for dinner. Easily one of my top three favorite restaurants in the city. If I wasn’t staying at a hotel, I’d kill sometime by hanging out at the park, visiting a few more shops and then going straight to L’Artusi.

Love this concept! I’m taking notes! Sad that I live 10 (or less) from the city and rarely go in for leisure activities.

When on vacation there is nothing better than a denim. Having the room and even a washing machine is priceless in NYC.
