Weekend Notes

weekend notes and a candleWhat a week it has been! The highlight was finally getting to share with all of you whether Nate was going to have a little brother or sister. I love this community so much, so it really felt like I was sharing with an extended part of my family, as cheesy as that sounds.

Here are some great things I’ve been clicking on this past week:

Grace breaks down what really goes into running a blog!

The diary of a 13-year-old style blogger at Fashion Week.

Sometimes we all need an indulgence, even when life gets expensive.

A great reminder for all of us. Even though being active and spending hours on Instagram is a big part of the job, I’ve been trying so hard to not check it at soon as I wake up. Baby steps, but I’ve been getting better and better.

I’ve always had a sweet tooth, but it’s gotten progressively more intense with this pregnancy. In an effort to find something that didn’t have all the negative effects of sugar, I’ve jumped on the Smart Sweets bandwagon. The entire bag has 3 grams of sugar, and there are no artificial colors or flavors. I don’t love the Sour Patch kid alternative, but I’m really into the peach rings. They also have a Swedish Fish option, which are my best friends favorite. If you don’t want to buy them in bulk from Amazon, I’ve also seen individual bags being sold at Whole Foods. Only downfall, they’re a bit pricey.

How Alicia, a new mom of two and one of my favorite OG blogger friends, prepped for baby #2. An equally great post, even if it’s your first.

The most-perfect first date move in recorded history.

I recently ordered this step stool that is functional and significantly more attractive than the current one we have. It’s perfect for a children’s room or a closet with tall shelving.

Totally appreciated these time management tips from Meghan. I definitely plan to implement some of these into my routine because I could use all the help I can get.

Tried & true tips that help parents survive Disney Parks.

Check out this under $100 plaid blazer.

I don’t own any combat style boots, but I have to admit, I’m very into these.

Not all apples are created equal when baking pies and making applesauce.

On days I wear makeup that’s a bit heavier (for me), I swear by this foundation; I’ve included it in my roundup of investment beauty purchases that are worth the splurge.

A dreamy weekend escape to consider.

Have the best weekend!

Thank you so much for the inclusion, Helena! I need to try these Smart Sweets – I eat way too much sugar! It was so nice to see you this week – have a wonderful weekend and congrats again on Baby GIRL! 🙂

Helena, a precious baby daughter and sister – congratulations. Nate is adorable and love his reaction to the surprise and his cute response to Keith – “don’t eat it”. Sel xx
