I’m the first to admit that I love a beautifully made designer shoe, but in some cases, I’d rather not spend the money if I’m able to find a less expensive alternative.
For example, if I don’t think they’re going to last me season after season, year after year, I think twice about shelling out big bucks. Another factor, suede versus leather. I know I’ve said this in the past, but I think it’s 10x easier to pull off an inexpensive suede pair versus a leather pair.
I’ve been eyeing these Jimmy Choos for awhile now, but then I found these, that perfectly satisfied that summer sandal craving. Along with that pair, I added these to my shopping cart. I’m positive they’re both pairs I’ll wear all spring and summer long and while I know some people question the quality and comfort of some Steve Madden shoes, I promise, they’re both pretty comfortable as far as heels are concerned.

You may have already done a post on this, but are the Current Elliot tees your recommendation for a well-made, plain t shirt? I’d rather spend a bit more for a quality tee that will last more than one season vs. skimp and buy multiples per year. Thanks!

Hi Tara! Eh… to be honest, no matter what brand I buy, I end up buying new white tees every season. I have a variety of Rag & Bone, Current/Elliott and J Crew’s and they all get kind of dingy looking after a few months. I’ve actually been thinking of washing my white button downs and tees in some bleach, something I never do, to liven them up! But to answer your question, I do find the Current/Elliott ones to be better quality and thicker than some other brands. Hope that wasn’t too confusing!

A good way to whiten your button downs and tees without using bleach is to use oxiclean. I put some oxiclean in a bucket and fill it with water and then let my white shirts sit in the water for a couple of hours. It works like a charm! Your shirts will be much brighter. Hope this helps!

This outfit is so chic! Love the bag too. I am with you on shoes, and this suede tends to look more expensive than leather (also, I would prefer to spend less on suede because they can get dirty or scuffed so fast, so it’s a win-win!!).
