To Bang or Not to Bang?

This has been the burning question inside my head for the last few weeks, maybe even months. I had blunt bangs about 7 years ago and I remember absolutely loving them in the beginning (the first 1-2 years), but towards the end and through the grow out process, I remember saying to myself “NEVER AGAIN!” Also, if I’m being perfectly honest, this image of Britney slightly scares me.
So here I am, going back and forth and back and forth. My girlfriends say “yes! go for it!…” whereas Keith’s answer is “are bangs still a thing?” The thing with bangs, when they look good, they really look good, but when they look bad, there are moments you contemplate about shaving your entire head off. Oh, and it’s always the above imageΒ of Kate Moss that makes me want to get them again, but lets be honest, Kate Moss can rock a mullet and still look like a million bucks.
So what do you guys think? Yay or nay? I’m so torn!

Oh, I'm thinking often about this – and when I have done it I can't wait to have no bang πŸ™‚

I think it does not look good on most girls.

The good thing about hair is that it grows back! Why not?!

  • alex boutrous

Why not? I say go for it! If you wanted to test it out, you could always have extensions as an experiment. I think it would look great!!

  • Carly Bacan

My friend got them & she looked like a Wii character

  • Sasa Zoe

    It's a tough question:P

Tough choice – maybe try some faux bangs to see what you think?

I love them on others, but for me, they take too much time to style

You should go for it!! I definitely think you have the right shape face for them…unfortunately I don't share that fate. I have a very round face and the blunt bangs INSTANTLY added about 15 lbs. It was bad.

But I think you will look great!

  • Tanya

You will look absolutely amazing with bangs! Definitely get them! Xoxo

  • emmitska

I say yes in general. BUT with the birth of your little one in a few months, you do not want to hate your face when you are dealing with the difficulties of new mommyhood. Take it as a word of wisdom from a mom of 2 (3 and 1.5 yo), because you never know how easy (then no problem) or hard it might be. If it's the latter, you don't want to deal with having to come to terms with a potential bad decision you made. Makes sense? You'd probably look gorgeous with bangs, but the timing would dictate to be cautious here…

  • ravenlocks

I say go for it! If you are still unsure, you could always try the clip on kind lol.

But honestly, bangs would look so good on you. You look gorgeous without them, though! πŸ™‚

Go for it! I just recently got bangs and love them. They are high maintenance so that is something to consider, but you won't regret it!

  • Little G

they are high maintenance πŸ™‚ you're about to become a mother and there's a high chance you'll have way less time for self-grooming. I say nah πŸ™‚ your current look is chic and gorgeous, why fix what ain't broke? πŸ™‚

Go for it! I've had long side swept bangs since…forever. If you hate them, you could braid or pin away πŸ™‚

  • Eannej Ermynj

No, you're hair doesn't look as thick as all of those pictures!

I would say on you they would be stunning because of your features πŸ™‚

  • Teah

I too had bangs about 5 years ago and absolutely loved them. I have also been considering getting them again, so I would say go for it!

  • otroyansky

You would prob look great with bangs BUT they are high maintenance….and with a baby on its way I think the last thing you need is another thing you have to maintain. I am not sure if your hair is naturally straight or wavy….for me when i was maintaining bangs…it was a bit of a pain. You're very beautiful so I'm sure you can rock it…..but maybe start with side swept, longer bangs? and then take it up from there? Took me a while to grow mine out and looking back on pics I don't think i'll be doing that again. I'm also low maintenance in the hair dept….good luck!

  • My Linh

Hi Helena, I would say your look great with your hair now. One thing I love when looking at your pictures is your hair style. I was going with the same question before and I did cut my bang, only enjoyed for the first week, then wished that I didn't cut it. It's so much more maintenance. I know hair will grow, but it does not grow overnight :).

    Love,

Haha I know what you mean! I got bangs recently, and while I loved them at first, they're in the growing out process, and there are days where I just want to put all of my hair up and not care anymore haha! And I realized that bangs take a lot more time and attention, so I definitely like not having them (mainly because I'm lazy and don't really want to blow-dry them everyday) πŸ™‚ But the decision is ultimately up to you! I'm sure you'll look great no matter what!

As someone who just finished the year long process of growing out blunt bangs, I also said never, ever again. I'm sure I'll change my mind at some point down the road and do it again, but I think for now a new cut or a slight change of color is a change that is just as bold without the painful grow-out period. Bangs can be so much fun, but never forget about the constant maintenance, greasy-ness, and frustration that comes along with them, haha πŸ™‚

YAY!Cut it off. IT is good to change. And if you don't like it, it will grow eventually. πŸ˜‰

I think stay with the style that you have. Blunt bangs might not be your style and it sometimes very bothers.

  • Silke Mai

Don't do it. πŸ˜‰ When I was pregnant, I went to the hair cutter and let him do this little change – "bang"!
And later, I felt so bad about it. It must be something about the hormones, that let's us think we have to change ourselves. You are beautyful. Make your decision a little bit later. Best Greetings from Germany

  • Margo

From a new mom's perspective – don't do it. The simpler the better when it comes to doing your hair with an infant (or a child of any young age probably).

I thought about doing a lob, but my hairdresser talked me out of it. So glad she did because my long locks are super-easy to mange with baby. I basically wash my hair twice a week (at most) since she was born.
