One of the most requested topics in my DMs has been to review my Mansur Gavriel Everyday Cabas tote. Spoiler alert: it’s been my most worn handbag in the last two months, and has only gotten better with wear.

A little backstory:

Anyone who knows me can attest that designer handbags have always been my thing. When I started making money at a young age, it was one of the first items I saved for. I wrote about it in detail in this article, but I’ve had a long history of buying, selling, and collecting. I’ve purchased some of my handbags, mainly Chanel, for more than half of what they retail for now. With the designer handbag prices these days, I would never be able to do that now.

At one point, I got so disgusted with some of the pricing happening (again, mainly Chanel) that I deemed myself “DONE!” That was definitely a dramatic overstatement, but that notion made me start looking into the midrange assortment out there. Specifically, after ordering and returning The Row NS Tote, I ended up with this baby. I actually really liked The Row tote, but in that case, I couldn’t justify what I saw for the bag’s price. Yes, the leather was gorgeous and buttery, but not better, at least to my eye and touch, than this one. I’m no stranger to paying for a name, but I couldn’t do it here for whatever reason. It’s not to say I won’t purchase a Row handbag because I probably will, but my thoughts were specifically tied to this style.

Now, let’s move on to the reason you’re here:

Bag Details:

I’ve had the Cabas tote for about a month now, and it’s all I’ve been reaching for. The more I wear it, the better it looks. The design is soft and slouchy, so if you’re looking for a structured bottom or look, this isn’t it. 

The size is perfect. It fits everything that I need, except my 15″ laptop. It fits it, but I wouldn’t choose it as my laptop bag. However, it would work if it were a smaller one or an iPad. When I travel into the city for the day, it holds all my essentials and fits comfortably under my arm. The 10.25″ handle drop also works well with a winter coat, which isn’t that easy to find.

The color pictured here is the biscotto, a beige with the slightest pink undertone. I love that about it and find it quite pleasing to the eye.

The bag is made in Italy and the leather is just gorgeous.

I plan to get another color, but I’m not sure if I should go with the black or the creamy avorio. There’s also this new version for spring and summer that is so good. 

There’s a magnetic closure, but since it’s a deeper bag, everything falls to the bottom. I’m never worried about anything falling out, but I do keep my smaller things organized in a pouch or two.

It is also incredibly easy to style. It works just as well with jeans and a dressier boot as it does with leggings and a more casual look.

The bottom line is that I love this bag more than I thought I would. It would make for the perfect every day, work, or mom bag. It’s available in several gorgeous colors and at many retailers, a few of which I’ve listed below.
