Comfy & Chic Mom Outfits

Chic Mom Outfits with pants, shirt, and coatSlides: Gucci | Trench: Topshop (last year, but here’s a similar version) | Denim: L’Agence | Tee: Rag & Bone

One of the main blog posts that many of you have been asking for is “mom friendly” outfits. In other words, looks that are comfortable, yet stylish. I will always love my heels but if I’m going to be real, they’re worn a lot less these days. On the days that I’m with Nate, I opt for “elevated basics” which is typically a chic pair of flats, denim, and basic tees or knits, depending on the season.

That’s also a reason I focus so much on skincare versus makeup; I wear minimal makeup most days but if my skin looks good, it doesn’t even matter. As for my hair, well that’s a different story. I wish I could be that girl whose hair air dried beautifully but that is not the case. That’s why on most days you’ll find my hair in a bun. It’s a lot quicker to put together a stylish outfit (and feel good) than worry about blowing and styling my hair on a regular basis. I save the blowouts for events, outings with friends or Keith, or weekend plans.

Below are the looks that I turn to, time and time again, on days when I’m with Nate. I’ve also had people ask me if I wear my Chanel or designer bags on those days and the answer is yes! I’ve mentioned it before, but I don’t believe in saving my bags for a special occasion. I want to use, wear and love the pieces I work hard to get. If they end up looking a little worn-in, that really does not bother me at all. Hope you enjoy this round up!

Love this post, Helena! I have a nearly 1-year-old son, and I’ve also been transitioning to a wardrobe that’s easier and more comfortable for mom=ing, but still makes me feel great.

Luckily, I found some great options for flats during the Nordstrom sale!

I love everything you publish and everything you wear, but this is by far my favorite post you’ve ever written! These outfits are perfect for momming and I’m already planning to recreate a few of them. I also love that I could swap in heels with all of them if I get an opportunity for a casual date night with my husband or drinks with friends. Thank you for sharing this.

I LOVE this post! I am almost 12 weeks pregnant and have been thinking about this topic for a while. I am typically more of a casual person but have been adding more upscale, investment pieces (mostly shoes and outerwear) that I know will look just as fabulous years from now as they are the day I bought them. Also, pieces that can dress up or down. I want to have quality pieces that will last longer than a season or two. I love all of your looks here, thanks for a great post!
