Weekend Notes: Three Weeks of Quarantine

Third Week of Quarantine + Weekend NotesSweatshirt (wearing a small) | Sweatpants (wearing a small)

How is everyone doing? I’ve lost track of day we’re on, but somewhere in the middle of the third week of quarantine or so. Like everyone else, I’ve basically transitioned into wearing loungewear most days. I cannot even remember when the last time I wore a pair of jeans was. Not that I’m minding that part too much, but I am looking forward to the days of dressing up again. One positive is that my skin is behaving particularly well. Way less makeup and a lot more masks and maintenance have resulted in a happy complexion. At this point, it’s all about finding the little things.

Here are some links from the week:

How to stop boredom eating during isolation.

Eight beauty products that have really impressed over the last few months.

I recently launched my Amazon Shop where you can find all the things I’ve shared on stories, from Nate’s stuff  to useful finds for the home (& for myself.) I’ve included the trampoline, the acrylic boxes

Joanna of A Cup of Jo shared a fun kid’s activity that’s equally delicious.

A fruit basket you’ll enjoy displaying on the kitchen counter.

A great New York Times article on why you should stop trying to be productive.

How am I supposed to focus on work right now?

This boxy roll tee comes in 6 colors & goes with just about everything.

Freezer-friendly dinners you can make once & eat twice.

Caved into the tie-dye loungewear trend with this cropped hoodie & matching joggers set.

Of all reunions he’s hosted, this one by far is the sweetest.

The Air Heart Sunglasses are finally back in stock!

Might be time to invest in some slippers..

Drunk Elephant just released its new hair & body range. I have yet to try them myself but definitely tempted after reading this review.

The simple ‘game’ that can stop a tantrum in its tracks.

Let me know if there’s anything in particular that you’d love to see me post, whether here or on Instagram.

xo,

Helena

Hello Helena, my thoughts on your question is that it is crucial (for me at least) during these extremely difficult times that influencers/bloggers recognise the importance of setting a good example and helping their communities. For example, I am an animal lover. What is happening to pets left at home/behind if their owner is unwell/in hospital. Who is taking care of them? In short, I would be extremely grateful if bloggers could draw attention to various charities and causes and how to help such charities/causes. Another example, encouraging followers/businesses to help our exhausted medical community by offering to ease their home workloads in some capacity. In short, I am a helper and I want to help others in whatever capacity I am able to.

    Hi Helena

As you have specifically asked your readers what they would like to see you post, I have to ask for your genuine opinion or a post on how you genuinely feel about the covid19 situation. How are you coping with this? I am a long term follower of your blog living in Britain. We are going into week 3 of lockdown and the death toll is rising daily, yesterday over 700 died. I know the situation is pretty bad in NY too. I only follow a few blogs these days but feel slightly disappointed that bloggers are still trying to gloss over what is really happening out there. Like you I’m a mother of two small children. Never in a million years did I ever expect to find myself shielding my children from something like this. I’m not asking you to write all doom & gloom, but we are all in this together and if ever there was a time to share some honest feelings, it is now. Please look after yourself and keep your little family safe Helena x x x

I absolutely agree, I can not wait to actually get dressed propeerly again haha! Even though I try (emphasis on TRY here) to get at least put together for work, I particularly miss wearing my shoes… haha! Well, stay safe and sane, and we will all going to do this! 🙂

I’ve been quarantines for three weeks now and there’s still three more (at least) to go but it’s all for a good cause!
