Weekend Notes & A Few Nordstrom Favorites

A Few Nordstrom Favorites

Weekend Notes & A Few Nordstrom Favorites

Hi!! Feels good to be writing a weekend post. How is everyone doing these days? I have moments of feeling okay, even happy during certain hours (these days, it’s all an hour-to-hour basis) and moments of being sucked into the reality of how dramatically my life has recently changed. Yesterday, I had my second virtual therapist appointment and so far, it’s been incredibly helpful.

I really feel the need to be transparent about everything, especially if my candidness can help someone else in the future.

On another note, our August plans are pretty similar to ones we had in July. We rented a house for a long weekend to get a little nature in our lives and a change of scenery. This time, we’ve safely expanded our social circle by a little and are having some friends join us.

As I’m sure many of you know by now, the Nordstrom sale has started, but opens to more of the public next week. There are a few things that I’m eyeing that I’m thinking of including in its own post, but for now, I’m definitely getting a replenishment of Neulash, Neubrow, this Olaplex trio (love all of them) and this white neck tie shirt. I used to have one, but I got a huge oil stain on it and my closet has been feeling its absence.

A few other links or things that have caught my eye:

Aqua Di Parma launched their Blu Mediterraneao collection and oh my lord,  I have the candle lit and it smells like a warm Italy vacation.

What’s it like working out in a gym these days?

I really appreciated Grace’s honest post on how she’s feeling these days.

In case you missed it and are interested, I shared our updated dining room.

Such a great tote for traveling or going to the beach.

This 5-step guide to unwrinkle all types of clothing is everything!

Just got this sleeveless bodysuit, along with this tank one. Both styles come in black & white.

Alicia of Cheetah is the New Black‘s Summer Solstice Playlist is perfect for listening outside on the patio with a glass of wine.

How a restaurant reopens after coronavirus shutdown.

Still such a big fan of this gradual tanning lotion. Smooths while adding a natural, sun-kissed color.

How to bake the absolute best zucchini bread.

This waffle knit sweatshirt is back in stock and still one of my most worn at-home “outfits.”

When you should – & shouldn’t – listen to your self-doubt.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hello Helena, when my uncle and first cousin passed away, my aunt needed someone to sit with her in silence and someone to share memories with of her husband and child. She didn’t want them to be forgotten and when she spoke about them, particularly in the early stages of her grief, family and friends felt uncomfortable and would often try to change the subject. They felt that by speaking about them would cut deeper into the raw wound that her heart carried. What I am trying to say is that if you would like to share memories and stories about your Dad on your blog, I would be here for you to listen to them. Sending you hugs, Sel

Sel, thank you very much. I appreciate the kind words!

I second Sel’s comment. Thinking of you xx

Silly question over here. But do you wear underwear with bodysuits? Are you supposed yo or not? Thoughts?

    • Helena

Not silly! If it’s a thong bodysuit, which is pretty much all of them in my case, I do not. I find it incredibly uncomfortable! So needless to say, my bodysuits get washed a lot!

I too share Sel’s sentiments. Grief is hard and it makes people uncomfortable – it’s so heavy and difficult. But if it’s cathartic for you to share more about your dad, please do. It’s part of life as well and life is worth celebrating and sharing in any capacity we can. I’m so sorry for your loss – big hugs and positive vibes to you and your family.
