Melbourne Part II

Finally sharing my 2nd batch of photos from beautiful Melbourne. In the first post, I couldn’t stop raving about the food and coffee, also listing some of our favorite coffee spots in the city. Today, I want to talk about some of our favorite eats, because I don’t think “everything we ate” will do. But first, a little about some of the below images…continue reading after the jump

But first, a little about some of the above images.

Towards the end of our week there, we escaped out of the city to the Mornington Peninsula,  It was a rather quick drive (1.5 hours), but felt like a completely different world from the bustling city we were just in. Fresh air, greenery and of course, lots of wineries! Sign me up. Side note: I highly recommend Foxeys Hangout. One of the most picture-esque locations with the friendliest owners. If you follow me on instagram, you might remember the photo from there. Another one of the stops along the way was a visit to the strawberry farm. After you’re done picking strawberries to take with you, I highly recommend getting a few items off their dessert menu (particularly their fondue and strawberry sundae). We finished the day with having lunch at Ten Minutes by Tractor and it was one of the best meals I’ve had during the trip. The food looked like a work of art and tasted even better.

Now, on to the favorite restaurants. I know I mentioned it in the first post, but we seriously did not eat one mediocre thing there, but here are some standouts.

Hanoi Hannah {Vietnamese}: inexpensive, such a great vibe and the Pho…*sigh*  I still dream about it.

Chin Chin {Asian Fusion}: Located down Flinders Lane, which was one of our favorites. Place was filled with beautiful people, but never felt pretentious or hoity toity. Great atmosphere and even better food. Recommend trying a bunch of dishes and sharing.

Movida {Spanish Tapas}: Already mentioned it above, but one of our favorite places to break up the day with a few snacks and glasses of wine.

Gazi {Greek}: Shared a few dishes, which I also recommend doing here. The food, the decor, the ambiance was all top notch.

Cumulus Up {Wine Bar/Farm to Table}: Save the best for last? Perhaps. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Fresh, yet innovative. I still dream about their burrata.

So there you have it! Some of the standouts. The city left such an impact on me. My taste buds and I are already itching to go back! If you’re planning to visit and have any questions on the above, feel free to email me!
