There is nothing worse than riding the subway during rush hour, where you’re crammed in the subway cart like a sardine and getting a seat is a game of chance. I did that for many years and the only way I’d be able to peacefully get through it, was to tune out to some of my favorite music. It was usually something to get me amped and motivated for the day: Beyonce, Jay Z, JT, or some sort of hip hop.
These days, I’m lucky enough to make my own hours (avoiding the rush hour commute), so riding the subway has become something I don’t mind at all. I still listen to my music and I love using the time to catch up on emails or to read a book. I have to say, I’m pretty grateful for NYC’s transportation system, especially since its been by main mode of getting around since I’ve been a teenager.
Fun Fact: New York City has, by far, the highest rate of public transportation use out of any American city and is the largest subway system in the world when measured by track mileage.

I hate public transport! I hate being crammed up like that and it feels like every time I can't avoid it I always end up in carriages during those peak periods. No bueno lol! Yes, NYC has great transportation, but the fact that everyday for most commuters, you have to be on a packed train with rude passengers and usually the trains smell or how about the view of the rats running along the tracks…its disgusting.

Funny, I KNOW this station!! It's the N train π I've been taking one for years, 18 ave was mine)) looks just as dumpy and destroyed , kinda scary but perfect background for urban photography, too bad never saw u, but I don't usually take rush hours , besides being one of the last stops in Bk , I mean first ones if u coming to manhattan – it's usually somewhat empty even in the rush hours, so no complains from me
I take NYC subway as a part of the city , good and bad, it just comes with the territory , I often see ppl criticize it ( like a comment above about rats) – don't like it? – don't live in NY , simple as that , coz its gonna be huge and unavoidable part of life , the one that they somehow failed showing on Sex and the City, nobody takes taxi everyday, everywhere
P.s. your hair looks the same, nice and blond, how is the process of growing ur natural color going?

Too funny! Yep – the N train! The 18th avenue stop is not my usual one, but happened to be on this particular day. And completely agree about it being a part of NYC life – it is what it is, right? You have to take the good with the bad.
As far as my hair, I actually am still growing out and it's pretty dark underneath! Still have some ways to go, but I'm almost there. Actually, going to get it toned this week so it starts blending in a little more to my natural color. I also think it's the photos (as always) that make it look blonder than it actually is.

Oh please its part of NYC life – the trains are gross. I live NYC because I have to, not because I want to. I dislike that you are promoting it as such a great place to live. I was commenting on the train stations because that is MY OPINION. I want to be realistic about living in NYC for anyone who does not live in NYC area. Its not its all cracked up to be. That's all. I love ripped jeans and I've been pining after them for so long and been unable to find the perfect pair! These ones are gorgeous! Beautiful outfit, love the red stripes, nautical and classy.
I use the public transport a lot, but often opt for walking over waiting impatiently for the next bus to come along. I hope the NYC transport is more reliable than it is over here!
