January Favorites

The last few months I wanted to focus on my favorite gift ideas and my beauty hall of fame, but I'm back with my monthly favorites! Here we go:

The Balancing Act

January 30, 2017

Some of you might recall me mentioning that we currently have our nanny three days a week. I am extremely grateful that I'm able to be home with Nate a couple of days a week and am able to focus on everything surrounding this blog, on the other days. Typically, I reserve one weekday (plus weekends) for shooting and creating content. One day strictly for computer related things like editing, drafting posts and emails. And the third day will vary on what takes priority, whether it's more shooting/editing or heading into the city for meetings or projects. It's all quite the balancing act, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Big Red

January 26, 2017

When I'm in dire need of some color, a classic red overcoat always seems like the perfect solution. To top it off, I was craving something a bit bolder, so I finished the look with my red, go-to Manolos. The rest was simple, as usual! High waisted denim and my favorite black bodysuit.

Monday

January 23, 2017

On the morning that these photos were taken, I had a million things to do before I left the house. Nate woke up cranky and earlier than usual, and when it was time for me get ready, I was a frazzled mess, knowing I didn't have much time. I was heading into the city for a few meetings about an upcoming project, followed by shooting my outfit, plans that were several days before.

Happy Friday!

January 20, 2017

What new shows are you all watching? I recently finished the OA and it was so good! My friends are all raving about West World, so that might be next.

How about podcasts? Are you into them? If so, which ones are your favorite? Admittedly, the only one I've listened to is Serial and I really want to change that! Keiko compiled a great list and I already added a bunch to my phone.

Wedding Beauty Prep: If married, what did you do for yours? I typically hate having my makeup done, so I did my own. For my hair, it was a fancier version of how I normally wear it, which was key for me. Thankfully, when I look back, I'm still happy with my look! Although, if I'm going to be perfectly honest, I kind of wish I wore some kind of bra :/

I answered all of your questions on the motherhood sleeping topic.

We recently got a new mattress (got this customized one from Helix) and I never realized just how badly we needed one. Our sleep just got 10x more comfortable.

If you saw my latest instastory, you saw that I recently got these. I think they look way better on than they look on the website! I normally wear an 8.5, but I took a 7.5 in these.

I'm still thinking about bangs. Talk me out of it!

One of my post-baby/pre-summer goals is to get my arms nice and toned. I've never really loved my arms, which is why you'll rarely see me in something sleeveless. But, I'm done with that and I've been trying to work hard to achieve my goal. If I can't get to the gym, I try to do this quick video 1-2x.

I also got these. I almost paid full price for them last season and I'm so glad I didn't.

And in saving the best for last, I'm not sure if any of you watched, or are familiar with, O.J.: Made in America. It was a project that Keith and the entire team poured their blood, sweat and tears into, often working 80+ hour weeks. Some of you might know (from older posts) that Keith works as an Audio Engineer/Recording Mixer and he was the one who mixed the sound for this film. Well, two weeks ago, he found out that he's nominated for a CAS (Cinema Audio Society) Award for best Re-Recording Mixer!! The awards are taking place in LA in February, so we'll be heading there for a few days. It will also be the first time that we'll be away (on a plane) since the baby was born. So so proud!!!

Happy Friday!

Motherhood: Sleeping

January 18, 2017

Before I had Nate, I had actual nightmares about never sleeping again. I'm not typically a worrywart, but that fear would actually keep me up at night. I would google things like a mad woman, refer back to blogs that I knew covered that topic and read every sleep book that came recommended. It was all incredibly overwhelming, as new motherhood is, but we all got out alive.
