Weekend Notes: A Little Update & 19 Days Till Christmas!

Weekend NotesCoat: H&M (another great option) | Leggings: Commando (wearing a small) | Sneaker: Axel Arigato | Baby Carrier: Artipoppe | Sunglasses: Celine Tilda |  On Nate: Zara Jacket and Vans Sneakers.

We’re 19 days away from Christmas, which is a completely crazy thought. Also, our baby girl turns one month old tomorrow! The balance of it all has been interesting, but honestly, not as crazy stressful as I thought. Nate has been so incredibly sweet and affectionate with her, something that’s been so special to witness. I know many of you are interested in a more lengthy post on the 1-2 transition, something I plan to dive into.

I’m really excited for this weekend! Tomorrow, I have a few of my girlfriends coming over for dinner and for some much-needed girl time. On Sunday, we’re also having our other friends come over with their kids. Lots of fun hosting this weekend, something I’m really looking forward to. I don’t plan to stress myself out, so I’ll probably whip up 1-2 things and then pick up a few ready-made things from the store. As long as we’re all together and there’s good background music (an absolute must in my book), something to nibble on and a little wine flowing, we’ll be good.

Here are some links from my week:

I love these brown, over-the-knee boots! And not a bad price!

Who else feels the same way about this commercial..?

Alicia of Cheetah is the New Black got a blog facelift and it looks so good. I’ve mentioned her before, but we’ve known each other since the beginning of our blogging days, about 10 years. It’s a crazy thought! Her photos and blog still remain one of my favorites. It’s also kind of making me want to update my site a little. What do you all think? Is Brooklyn Blonde due for a little makeover?

If you’re looking for a knit dress to wear this winter, I love this one. If you find it too short to wear without tights, I also think it would work well with leather-eque leggings. or a pair of opaque tights.

Yesterday, I popped into Sephora to realize that they’re having a promotion for their Rouge members: spend $75 or more and get $25 off. I picked up a few replenishments: my favorite brow pencil (I wear #3), this daytime eye cream and a new eyeliner that I heard was great for the waterline.

Need a fancy gift for that special someone (or for yourself)? I love this Diptyque photophore. For the host or for someone that’s hard to shop for, I’d definitely consider it a ‘wow’ gift, especially when paired with one of their candles.

Today only (Saturday), Crate & Barrel Kids is offering 30% off all table and chairs. I think we’re going to go with this table and in addition, this step stool for his toddler bed. We’ve been wanting to get Nate a little arts and craft table, that could also double as his lego building station. This one has adjustable legs, which is perfect!

100 best movies on Netflix right now.

Last year,  I shared some great ideas for experience gifts. Quite honestly, those are always my favorite types of gifts and what I’d want to receive 95% of the time.

What to drink when dealing with [holiday] after-dinner bloat.

This mom turned her dinner table into the happiest place on Earth for her picky eaters.

Did you know that Tory Burch was told not to call herself ambitious!?

On parenting: I had a reader recommend the book ‘How to Talk So Little Kids Will Listen’ and I highly recommend it!

Also, the key to raising self-reliant kids.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
