TGIF! Repeating My Favorite Suit.

my favorite suit from A.L.CSuit via A.L.C

This week has been a bit of a whirlwind. After traveling with three toddlers (we went to Antigua) and jumping right into a few fashion week events and late night dinners, I’m ready for a long nap. Like so many of us, especially living in such a fast-paced city, I have to remind myself to just sit down and relax. Don’t get me wrong; I love it and don’t know if I’d thrive any other way, but occasionally, I feel a bit burned out. That’s really one of the reasons I’ve fallen back in love with reading; it gives me an opportunity to curl up on the couch and take a breather. I also equate reading to working out. Once you start and are in a good groove, you want to continue going. On the flip side, once you stop, it’s hard to get back into it.

About a month ago, during my reading spree (I was reading at least 1-2 books a week), I purchased three new books. I placed them on my nightstand and for whatever reason, have not started any of them. A month has gone by, I’ve stopped reading and now, am having a harder time getting back into it. It’s so interesting how that happens. Tonight, Keith is going out with his friends for dinner and drinks and admittedly, I’m excited for a night to myself. I plan on pouring myself a glass of wine and finally starting Becoming by Michelle Obama. I’m normally not one to like books that are written by politicians or the wives of, but I’m really intrigued by this one after hearing so many incredible things.

Anyhoo, here are a few links I’m clicking on this week:

    Hi Helena,
I think it’s great modeling, when kids see their parents reading, and having stacks of books at the ready!
I just finished ‘Nine Perfect Strangers,’ and I enjoyed it. I’m almost finished with ‘The Last Tudor’ another great book from Philipa Gregory. Highly recommend if you’re into 15th-16th century palace intrigue!

I totally get you on the reading thing! I love reading, it is one of my favorite leisure time activities, but some how, I feel off the bandwagon sometime last year and I made it one of my new years resolutions to get back into it! I set a goal to read at least one book per month (I really only get to reading when I’m on the train to and from work or uni) and so far so good! I finished a book in January and now I am almost done with my second one, with the next one already waiting for me. Feels so good to get back into the reading groove 🙂
    Have an amazing weekend!

That comparison you made between exercise and reading books is so true!
Nothing like getting cozy and reading a good book!

I love the suit. Reading is something that I’ve just gotten back into too. I have a huge pile on my to-read list, so it’s nice to be finally chipping away at it
