Happy Friday!

White Button Down: Frank & Eileen | Denim: Something Navy x Nordstrom | Shoes: Veronica Beard (in leopard) | Hat: Janessa Leone (just ordered this color) | Gucci Bag:

We’re still knee deep in the reno process, but things are finally starting to come together. Somehow, we’ve gotten used to living in the basement and not having a real television. Aside from Conor McGregor Notorious (which we thoroughly enjoyed) and Ali Wong’s comedy special (hysterical, especially if you’re a mom), we haven’t watched a single thing. I actually don’t miss the TV at all as it’s given me a chance to dive back into reading – something I have missed.

The one thing I miss more than anything is cooking! I’m not a complicated cook by any means, in fact, if it takes me more than 30 minutes, I’m not interested. But I miss being able to roast some veggies, hard boil an egg and just the ease of having a functioning kitchen. We’re about two weeks away from being finished (god willing), so I’m starting to get equally excited and anxious about finally finishing. Eye on the prize!

In the meantime, here are some links from the week:

I get a ton of questions on my favorite white shirts, like the one I’m wearing in the above photo. This one is Frank & Eileen and easily one of my favorite (white) shirt brands. I own several, including a longer version, which is perfect to wear with jeans, but also as a coverup on the beach (as seen here).

Why really high sunscreen SPFs are actually better to use.

The best top for breezy, summer evenings.

This video might give our dog & Nate a mischievous idea.

My fav protein shake recipe.

10 Facts about The Bronx even a native New Yorker might not know.

I often share posts from my good friend, Keiko. Not only because she’s a wealth of information, but  because she’s such a beautiful writer. Writing is not particularly my strong suit (as much as I try), and I’m often blown away by her ability to share a story. Here’s another one of her beautifully written posts.

I found budget-friendly dupes of my Hermes slides!

Notice something different on your Uber app?

I own these mules in brown and they’re so incredibly comfortable. I can actually commute in them, something I don’t say easily.

29 First date ideas that aren’t dinner & a movie.

Love these for summer (under $50!)

Wishing you all a beautiful weekend!

Good luck on the rest of the renovation. If you are looking for any new books to read I just started Circe and it’s very enjoyable so far. Happy Friday, xAllie

I don’t think people really realize how much they use a kitchen until they can’t use it anymore! I personally love to cook and enjoy creating or trying out new recipes, but even if I’m just reheating something in the microwave, where would we be without a kitchen! Keep us updated on the renovation process 😀

I hope you guys are enjoying a happy Father’s Day today! When I saw this outfit on Instagram I immediately added those mules to my shopping cart, I need them. I love the article about first date ideas. My husband and I do so many of the things on that list and for some reason that is making me proud. #odd.
