Monthly Favorites in Beauty

Monthly Beauty Favorites, April Skincare, Flat Lay, Helena of Brooklyn Blonde

Last month, I dedicated my March favorites to Drunk Elephant, but we’re back to regularly scheduled programming. As always, I’ve been test driving a lot of products but these are my April star players.

It Superhero Mascara: Hands down one of the best (if not the best) mascara I’ve tried. My best friend first raved about this mascara several months ago and I haven’t had the desire to try anything new since. It lengthens, thickens, and makes my lashes look so good. My only complaint is that it dries out rather quickly and I’m tempted to buy a new tube more often than anticipated. Nonetheless, I’ll continue to buy because it’s that good.

Oribe Gold Lust Hair Oil:  This luxurious, lightweight oil absorbs instantly to help restore all hair types back to its prime condition. Safe to use for colored or keratin-treated hair and works especially well if yours is more on the dry &/or damaged side. Apply as a pre-shampoo treatment, before blow drying for heat protection, or on dry hair for luster and frizz control.

Vintner’s Daughter Active Botanical Serum: Okay, I’ve already had a full-on dedicated post to this but I had to bring it back for another post. The truth of the matter is that after I ran out of my second bottle, I stopped using it. For starters, it’s very expensive and obviously I would rather not love it. I tried to forget about it as I proceeded to use all of the other things my beauty closet is stuffed with. A month ago, I was given a $200 gift card to Net-A-Porter and I decided to spend it on a bottle of VD. After two uses I remembered why I loved it so much. I won’t go into all the details here but if you missed it the first time, read my original post!

Guerlain Terracotta Bronzer: For years this was my holy grail bronzer. But as most things go, I started using something else and completely forgot about it. Years later, I was reintroduced to it and was reminded why I loved it so much. Most bronzers are either too sparkly or look too muddy on my fair complexion, but this one is neither of those things. Just a beautiful, natural finish.

Drunk Elephant Marula Oil: Somehow a bottle of this slipped into this shoot, but you could read all about my Drunk Elephant favorites in this post. I’ve also received a ton of questions asking me to compare Vintner’s Daughter to this and they’re in two different categories for me. VD is more of a treatment serum (in my opinion) whereas the Marula Oil is more of a hydrating oil, with added benefits. I like having several oils and serums in my rotation, often using more than one at a time.

Diptyque Eau Duelle: By no means a new favorite, but occasionally, old favorites need to be revisited and mentioned again. Hands down, one of my top three signature scents. It’s warm, sexy and smells like a mix of bourbon and vanilla.

Huxley Anti Gravity Cream: I discovered Huxley, a Korean brand, over two months ago and so far I’ve been really impressed. I haven’t had a chance to try everything but their Anti Gravity Cream has become one of my favorite moisturizers, especially at night. It’s thick but just melts right into the skin, leaving it soft and hydrated.

Huxley Grab Water Essence Serum: Hydrating serums and hyaluronic acids have been all the rage and let me tell you, I’m into it. If there’s a way for me to plump my skin by adding more hydration, sign me up. I typically layer this under my SPF and moisturizer, which leaves my skin feeling and looking better. Currently, I’m rotating a few (Drunk Elephant, Huxley and Skinceuticals) and admittedly, they’re all wonderful. Huxley is a little more liquidy, which is great for day, and I know I’ll like as the weather warms up.

Karite Shea Butter: For my shea butter fans out there, this stuff is a decadent dream. I’ve been using both the hand cream and body butter and on numerous occasions, Keith has commented on how good I smell. It’s thick, creamy, and leaves my skin feeling beautiful and rejuvenated. The best part is that they use 100% organic ingredients, sourced directly from Ghana.

Guerlain Meteorites Highlighter: Quite possibly the most beautiful makeup product I own. Looks aside, this highlighting powder gives my skin a beautiful, illuminating brightness that I really love. Between the packaging and the quality of the product, it’s also become one of my favorite gifts to give somebody special.

YSL All-In-One-Glow: For those who’ve followed my past beauty favs, you may recall me including YSL Touche Eclat Radiance Awakening foundation. It’s been my #1 holy grail favorite for years. It evens out my complexion, yet never makes me look like I’m wearing face makeup. I’d often mix it with a drop of face oil to amp up the glowliness. Well, step in All-In-One-Glow and it’s possible I’ve found a new favorite. It’s a drop lighter than the Radiance Awakening and almost acts like a tinted moisturizer, but with a little something extra. If you’re into light foundations, give this a try. It truly is my new fav.

Gorgeous picks. I love guerlain – it makes me so happy to look at the beautiful packaging and the products perform so well. I have the bronzer mixed with blush and it looks great when applied with a big fluffy brush. xAllie http://www.theallthatglittersblog.com

In as much as it is easy and fun to hack into any mobile device and perform any hack related service; which this can only be done with the help of a certified and professional hacker. These were the words i was told when i first contacted CERTIFIED HACKER when i needed to hire him for his help out to hack into my ex-husband mobile device when i became suspicious and had a strong feeling he was cheating on me. He got the job well done by tracking his exact location every point in time and he provided me with facts to prove of him cheating on me when i was granted access to all his text, facebook and whatsapp messages including all incoming and outgoing calls. I was glad i found out and got to know the truth. I strongly recommend (CERTIFIEDHACKER4REAL at GMAIL dot COM) for help if you need to know the truth about a cheating partner or spouse or ever need help with any hack related service. Simply contact him, he is so reliable.

Great post. I love all your reco’s. I took your advice on Vitners Daughter after you raved about it and could not agree more. Sometimes you only realize a product is working after you run out and try something else. I felt same way. I also purchased the Drunk Elephant oil after your post. Love that too. However, I would be very interested in learning more about the different combinations you said you try. How do you layer different products. Do you use a regular moisturizer with the Vitners Daughter? When do you layer the Drunk Elephant Oil? I also alternate products but this is the one area I am so confused on – I know they say lightest first but still gets me. Going to now try the YSL tinted moisturizer – thanks!!!
