As much I love a neutral palette, I love red. It’s strong, it’s powerful and it makes a statement without saying a word. Yes, it is a bold color, but it also does not have to be intimidating.

I’m all about dressing in a head-to-toe red look, but for a bit more subtly, there’s so many great ways to go about it. A pair of red shoes (I’m partial to suede over red leather) with an all black look is killer. Or a red coat to brighten up a more simple outfit. I’ve had my red Vince coat for years and it remains one of my favorite pieces in my closet. I also love pairing a pair of blue or black denim with a red blazer and a red lip.

Another one of my go-to looks in beauty is a red nail and a red lip. I love Sephora #LIPSTORIES in #35 and Essie Gel in Rock the Runway. For the nail polish, I recommend purchasing the Essie Top Coat to prolong the life of your manicure. I do it at home and it lasts a couple of days longer than regular polish.

Ahhh red is such a cool and strong color but I do not feel brave enough yet to wear it out on a typical day to the office! Would love to get a red coat though, such a statement!

Helena, you look beautiful in red. I love the colour red but I don’t feel comfortable wearing head to toe red. I will either wear red on my lower body or upper body, but not both. Red is a colour that symbolises love, warmth, energy, vitality, confidence etc- all wonderful attributes. But it also symbolises negative elements – danger, anger, rage, intimidation, pain etc. I guess what I am trying to say is that I try to soften the message that red sends by choosing never to wear an all red outfit.
