Happy Friday!

What new shows are you all watching? I recently finished the OA and it was so good! My friends are all raving about Westworld, so that might be next.

How about podcasts? Are you into them? If so, which ones are your favorite? Admittedly, the only one I’ve listened to is Serial and I really want to change that!  Keiko compiled a great list and I already added a bunch to my phone.

Wedding Beauty Prep: If married, what did you do for yours? I typically hate having my makeup done, so I did my own. For my hair, it was a fancier version of how I normally wear it, which was key for me. Thankfully, when I look back, I’m still happy with my look! Although, if I’m going to be perfectly honest, I kind of wish I wore some kind of bra :/

I answered all of your questions on the motherhood sleeping topic.

We recently got a new mattress (got this customized one from Helix) and I never realized just how badly we needed one. Our sleep just got 10x more comfortable.

If you saw my latest instastory, you saw that I recently got these. I think they look way better on than they look on the website! I normally wear an 8.5, but I took a 7.5 in these.

I’m still thinking about bangs. Talk me out of it!

One of my post-baby/pre-summer goals is to get my arms nice and toned. I’ve never really loved my arms, which is why you’ll rarely see me in something sleeveless. But, I’m done with that and I’ve been trying to work hard to achieve my goal. If I can’t get to the gym, I try to do this quick video 1-2x.

I also got these. I almost paid full price for them last season and I’m so glad I didn’t.

And in saving the best for last, I’m not sure if any of you watched, or are familiar with, O.J.: Made in America.  It was a project that Keith and the entire team poured their blood, sweat and tears into, often working 80+ hour weeks. Some of you might know (from older posts) that Keith works as an Audio Engineer/Recording Mixer and he was the one who mixed the sound for this film. Well, two weeks ago, he found out that he’s nominated for a CAS (Cinema Audio Society) Award for best Re-Recording Mixer!! The awards are taking place in LA in February, so we’ll be heading there for a few days. It will also be the first time that we’ll be away (on a plane) since the baby was born. So so proud!!!

Happy Friday!

Congratulations to Keith! I’m a film student and I know how important good sound is to a show – and how often it go unrecognised (considering they really do create real life magic)!

Also, I’m super late on this one, but I’m currently watching Mad Men and I’m obsessed. If you haven’t watched it yet, I’d say it’s worth the 7 season commitment. Have a lovely weekend!

And congrats to Keith, that’s an amazing achievement! ??

Such cool news about your hubby–a huge congratulations to him and may you both enjoy LA 🙂
And in all honesty you look fantastic including your arms!!! Keep doing what you’re doing–I finally lost the rest of my baby weight (four years later) and it may have something to do with getting into yoga and getting a husky puppy ? ? I definitely saw results with yoga as far as toning goes not to mention the mental benefits!! Have a beautiful weekend ?

If you were a fan of Serial podcast, I’d recommend watching The Night Of on HBO if you haven’t watched it already!

NO BANGS!!! You’ll love them for the first 2 days and then regret it so much….so high maintenance.

  • Sarah

I say No to bangs. In general I think I looked more dated with them and had fewer styling options. I’m constantly inside/outside all day—wind and bangs–always messed up,drove me crazy. I finally forced myself to grow them out 2 years ago and am SO much happier. PLus-you are so pretty with your sleek low bun-the emphasis is on your beautiful face. It always looks classic and sophisticated,,,just striking-not hiding behind anything. Not everyone can pull that off-but you do. My 2 cents 🙂

    • Sarah

what I meant is anyway you wear your hair now, bun, top knot, all down,,,,it all emphasizes your face and shows your classic beauty. I think bangs would distract.

  • Fashion and Frappes

Thats fantastic news – its always great to be recognised for your work!

How are you getting on with your Roshes? I love the style but I have to admit, I did not think they were great quality. Mine tore quite early on after I started using it. The top mesh part isn’t very hardy since its light and breathable.

Congrats to Keith! That’s great to be up for the award! And I’m going to talk you out of bangs. We’re pretty similar with our tastes and I got bangs a few years ago, a full straight one like Taylor Swift used to have and I HATED it! I actually got home and cried. Not only was it really hard to manage all the time as it required straightening, and was constantly in my face, it made my face shape awkward and it really didn’t suit me at all. I’d toyed with the idea for a year and finally was brave enough to do it, but it really wasn’t for me, I grew it out immediately. My mum also had bangs for a while when she cut them in, and grew them out as she didn’t like it either. I know they suit some people, and bangs might look great on you if you can keep up with their maintenance, but for me it was a no go and a regret lol. I’m much better suited to side sweeping versions.
