Jeans: Goldsign, Blouse: c/o of Joie (the print available here), Handbag: Gucci, Sunglasses: Celine Audrey, Belt: Banana Republic Outlet. Earrings: Bought at Sequin boutique in West Palm.
Ever since I was a little girl (growing up in the 80's in Queens) I've always been slightly fascinated with the 70's, particularly by the 70's in NYC. I was fascinated by what the city was like back then, by the fashion and by the nightlife (aka the Studio 54 days, which I still love hearing stories about).
As I get a little older and a lot more comfortable with what my style is (blogging has helped tremendously in figuring that part out), I find myself gravitating towards a modern 70's aesthetic quite often. In my opinion, no one does that like Rachel Zoe. Definitely one of the top three closets I'd love to raid.
On another note, I leave for Berlin tomorrow! It will be my first time there and I'm quite excited to scratch that off my bucket list. I won't have that much free time, but if anyone has any recommendations on anything, would really appreciate it!

I was in Berlin this summer! I absolutely loved it! Not really sure what you're into since I just recently started following, but my group and I loved the Matrix nightclub. Very crazy if that's what you're looking for. We also went to Sachsenhausen, a concentration just outside of Berlin. You can get there on the S-Bahn, take it all the way to Oranienburg. We also went to Sans Souci in Potsdam which is about thirty minutes from Berlin if you can make it there. I hope you enjoy the city. I know I did :) I also have a ton of posts from my trip on my blog if you're interested. They're all in July 2012.

Funny...I love 70s fashion as well. Luckily, my mom saved a lot of her vintage clothing from that era and passed them onto me. I still have yet to wear many dresses and pants that belonged to her.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I love those pants! They are amazing. It reminds me of how much I need to start wearing flare legs a lot more :)

I love the 70s, too! It's always so glamorous. I used to be skinny jeans only, but recently, bootleg, flare, and wide-leg denim has begun populating my closet more and more.

The wide-legged jeans are a great change from the normal skinnies every once in a while! The print of your blouse is very cool because in the pictures I thought the small stripes were gold, but I didn't notice it had a subtle print until I looked at the picture online.

I feel the same way about the 70s (especially in NYC). Growing up I always thought that I was born in the wrong decade.
ReplyDeleteLove your loose waves & wide leg jeans.
Also-- if you want a crazy/fun night out in Berlin, check out the club Berghain (just make sure to dress comfy/casual... they'll often turn away girls that are too dressed up).

ReplyDeleteomg my ex-home town! <3 Berlin! Prenzlauer Berg has some unique stores, also a lot of vintage stores (second hand designer pieces: bags, etc) are in Charlottenburg (Mommenstrasse). Visit the KA DE WE (luxury department store and the 6th floor which is the delicatessen level...you can get almost anything there....). Galleries Lafayette (near Friedrichstr). Hackescher Markt is also very nice (art galleries, cafes, etc). If you walk down (south) from Ka De We on the Kurfurstendamm at the end of it you'll find Chanel, LV, etc ;) If you have a night out, Asphalt Club is a fun place but I think more is happening on the weekends...check out Newton Bar!! Have fun!! I cant wait until I am back in Berlin! xx

love those jeans! the cut is so amazing!
ReplyDeleteAgree with you! NY must have been so vibrant and lively back in the 70s (not that now it isn't, but in a different way, I think).
ReplyDeleteI love 70s and 60s fashion, and tend to gravitate towards shapes that remind me of that era. And I am so happy that wide-legged jeans are popping out again.
PS - I totally stole your white jeans-cream sweater outfit last Sunday. And I was the only one in white in a sea of black!
I love the photos! Great outfit too!
