Pastel Pairing

As the weather gets hotter, I often wear my hair in a sleek ponytail or bun, which I usually load up with deep conditioner. My hair being out of my face is a huge plus, but additionally, it's so much easier to manage in the hot and humid temperatures. I also try not to wash my hair more than 3x a week. As you all know, I've been using L'Oreal Healthy Look Creme Gloss (their conditioner has become my favorite!) and maintaining that routine has really helped preserve both my hair color and condition. Do you guys have any hair tips that you swear by?

    I'm like you I only wash my hair 3x a week and I use Aveda Madder Root which helps hold the red!

  27. Love that dress! I do the same 2-3x a week wash and I also use an amazing hairspray called Healium aiHr ~ it is light-weight, smells great AND has SPF in it!! (sound like I spokes-person but I just really just love this product). http://classroomcouture.blogspot.com

  42. Love this mint jacket on you Helena! And not washing my hair everyday definitely helps my color last longer. Also letting it air dry as opposed to blow drying helps a bunch too ... plus it's way to hot in the summer anyway!

  43. I can honestly say that I picked up a few from you, Helena!! Loading my hair with deep conditioner everytime I wear it in a bun or ponytail had never crossed my mind untill I read it in one of your previous posts. Now I do it all the time, and it does help keep my hair healthier and smoother looking. Another thing I do come summer is put away my blowdrier. I let my hair dry naturally and give in to its crazy waves every summer... come fall, it's looking alot less dry!

I'm always wearing my hair out of my face now that the weather is hot, but I find a good heat-protective serum before blow-drying or curling my hair still keeps it healthy and fresh when it's down!

  84. I loooove that dress - Hair tips, hmm...well, I definitely think it makes an enormous difference to pump the breaks on heat styling during the summer months. That 3-4 month break really gives your hair a good amount of time to rest and be re-conditioned!

  111. One of my favorite hair products is also a cheapie! Aussie 3 Minutes Miracle is THE best deep conditioner I have ever tried and it's only $3! I have problems with my bottom layer of hair when I grow it out and this stuff works magic with tangles and dryness. A must have for me!

  125. I also don't wash my hair more than 3x a week! Normally I only wash it twice a week. For some reason that just works for me. I never straighten or curl my hair either which keeps it healthy. When I wash the conditioner out of my hair, I turn the water to cold. I heard that makes your hair super shiny :) It seems to be working so far! Great post! Love the jewelry.

  126. 1. I never, ever use a shampoo on my hair that costs more than 99 cents per bottle. And I wash seven days a week - more, if I've played disc golf.

    2. I love the skull ring and the anchor bracelet on the same woman. Worth at least 17 points.

    3. I'd love to happen to be walking down the street you're on for your photo shoots. I'd have a presence, like that woman in the intro to the Mary Tyler Moore Show, only I wouldn't stop and stare, I'd just amble by and be a great addition to the scenery.
