L'Oreal Healthy Look (and on being blonde)

Being blonde has become such a part of my identity, I don't think I could ever be any other hair color. Throughout the years, I've experimented with all shades of the rainbow from a deep cherry red (my fiancé never lets me forget that) to a dark brown. I remember walking into the salon with a picture of Rachel from Friends and instead of asking for "The Rachel" cut, I wanted her chestnut colored locks instead. That lasted for a good 2 months before I went back to being blonde. After those two experimental phases, I made my friends promise that if I ever wanted to be anything but blonde, they would talk me out of it.
It's not that I don't love those hair colors on others, but for me, being blonde is a part of who I am. It might be the fact that as a little girl, I would sit in the bathroom and watch my mother do her own hair color every 3 weeks. She was already a natural blonde, but always preferred it a little lighter (like me). As I got older, I became fascinated by the fact that she never went to the salon, but rather, always did it herself.
That's why I'm truly excited to have partnered with L'Oreal as "the blonde" for their Healthy Look Creme Gloss Haircolor. Both my mom and I have been such huge fans of their products for eons and in my opinion, no one does haircolor like L'Oreal Paris. What I love most about this product is that it is NOT permanent, which is wonderful for those who want a little boost, but are afraid of anything drastic.

  3. I have never even considered coloring at home...which is crazy because BOTH of my parents have done it for years (My dad is 81 with little hair left, but...yes, he still colors :) Since reading this I got on FB and found out which color would best suit me. Since the grays have forced me to start coloring monthly, its MUCH more budget friendly to do it myself...here goes nothing :) I'll give you all of the credit if it goes well (but, don't worry...none of the blame if it doesn't.

  28. What's your natural color? Were you born blonde? See, I can totally relate to this. I was born blonde, but all throughout my child hood and my teen years I wanted to be a redhead, when I was little I was always drawn to redheads like Annie, Pippy Longstocking, and then later it was Molly Ringwald, Tiffany, Arielle and there was this girl in school who was a few years older then me who I idolized and she had beautiful red hair also. So, for whatever reason, I wanted red hair and in 1997 I did it and I've been a redhead ever since. I have a redheads complexion and have all the characteristics, so it makes sense, I think I should have been born a redhead.

Blonde is beautiful too and very glamorous.

  30. I'm glad to see I'm not the only other blogger who does her own hair as well. I do my roots every 3-4 weeks (been gray since I was 22) and I do my own highlights as well. It's been trial and error for me but I have finally found the combo that works.
