Zara Jacket (previously worn here, H&M Striped Top, Paige Jeans c/o, YSL Shoes, Camille Zarsky Clutch c/o.
These photos are back from when Christine and I went to Cali and for some reason, I forgot to share them before. We snapped these right before heading out for some dinner, drinks & dancing (my 3 favorite D's).
Speaking of trips, Keith and I are headed to New Orleans for the first time the first week of April. So unbelievably excited to get away with my favorite person and eat our way through the city. Our last trip together was Playa Del Carmen, so it's been awhile. (Well at least for me, since I get a major travel bug).
If anyone has any must see/eat recommendations, would absolutely love to hear them!
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

wow, love your oversize clutch! how cute!

Helena,
ReplyDeleteIf you are going to be in NOLA then you must try Cafe Du Monde in the French Quarter. Their coffee and beignets are to die for. Be sure to arrive early...there is always a line. Or grab to go and sit by the water and watch the ships go past.
Those jeans look fantastic on you, Helena! And so coveting that tweed blazer.

Omg these are definetly the most beautiful shoes ever ! I love your ysl heels ! They top everything !Xx nadine www.ballerinasbun.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!! The clutch and heels are amazing. I am going to New Orleans next weekend! I went 6 years ago, but do not remember it well enough to give any recommendations. Im sure you guys will have a blast.
ReplyDeleteI die for those shoes! I'm from New Orleans, all good recomendations so far from previous posts, but I have a few more: Jacques-Imo's for dinner on Oak Street. It's always a wait (but totally worth it) so don't go starving. The food is incredble and you'll get a true New Orleans vibe from the atmosphere. Also on the same street is the Maple Leaf for live music and Oak for good wine. Also check out the night life on Frenchman Street for dancing and fun bands...its never disappointing! And of course there's good shopping on Magazine St (uptown) and Royal and Chartres in the French Quarter. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteOh my God I love the YSL shoes. I was going to get the Tribtoo but I may purchase this instead! Check out my Christian Louboutin post on my blog. I think you may enjoy it because I see you have a few pairs of your own.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog and I am leaving a link to your blog on my blog roll.

My best friend lives in NOLA, and I live in Mississippi, so while I'm sure you have a fabulous list of places to eat at already, a few more never hurt!
ReplyDelete-Cochon, so delicious, really you can't go wrong
-Sucre, for macarons in charming packaging to eat while browsing among the boutiques and junk stores along magazine st
-Du Monde is a classic and super cheap, also open 24/7 365 so it's a great place to hit up late at night after you've enjoyed some delicious cocktails when there aren't lines, or mid-afternoon to sit in the shade and hear the street performers. A bit further up the road where DM is there's often a market selling foodstuffs and various New Orleans tchotchkas. It's a great place to snag an eel skin clutch or wallet, and some interesting jewelry--be sure to haggle. You can get some amazing deals and have a cool story to go along with your
-la divinia gelateria (I think there are 3 all over the city) has DELICIOUS homemade gelato in all sorts of wonderful regional flavors such as satsuma, chicory, and more, as well as all of the classics.
-the Hotel Monteleone is my one of my favorite places for pre-dinner cocktails. (conveniently located a few blocks away from cafe DuMonde and right next to the police station) The hotel itself is gorgeous and their bar has a carousel with chairs that revolves slowly as you drink. It sounds cheesy perhaps but is so lovely--and their cocktail list is wonderful. If you opt to not sit at the moving bar, there are loads of overstuffed velvet chairs so you can sit and watch the people go by. Also there are some gorgeous antique stores around there so it's fun to window shop tiaras and model ships made of sterling silver. (Because really, who doesn't need one of those?!)
-Honestly, everywhere you go is going to be fabulous! Have a blast!
You look so lovely :) I love and adore those shoes! What part of LA are you in over here? Are you near The Grove on third street?

The Gumbo Shop is a great creole place for dinner. Cafe Du Monde is a MUST! Their beignets are to die for! For great live jazz music the Spotted Cat is a must. If you get out of the French Quaters and Burbon street then get to the Garden District and go to Sucre. Their shop is adorable plus they have yummy soberts and macaroons. For shirts and lil things from NOLA you must go to Fleurty Girl's shop in the French Quater. She is a graphic artist who makes her own NOLA graphic shirts. THere are also other works from artist and designers but all of the goods in there is sooooo unique and so chic. And for a free romantic trip do the ferry from NO to Algiers. You don't have to get off the ferry at Algiers you can take it right back. It's really beautiful during the sunset and see the NO skylines and be on the Mississippi River. I love NOLA and want to go back. There is so much to take in down there, so really enjoy your time.

Great clutch! I snagged a beautiful gold tweedish envelope clutch from H&M for like $12. Greatest buy of the spring season so far.
ReplyDeleteDomenica! It's in the Roosevelt Hotel, and it is incredible. Seriously. It ranks high on my "top ten" list, and I am a total foodie. A Mother's debris sandwich, paired with their amazing bloody's will cure even the worst hangover. I also love, love, love Mr. B's. It's a Dickie Brennan joint, and it a super duper tasty.
ReplyDeleteHave fun!
xx
You must check out Magazine St. too, great shops, resturants, bars and my favorite sweet shop, Sucre! Enjoy nola!
